Mark is an analog collage and mixed media artist from Charlotte, North Carolina USA, producing art from found objects and many varieties of paper material. He has been immersed in this form of art since 2020 and since then he has produced over 3500 pieces of art. His style is abstract, Dadaist at times, surreal and contemporary. Collage allows Mark to create without boundaries or rules and is always guided by the paper/materials in front of him. He does not conform to any rules or standards and has created a wide array of art. What he enjoys the most, is when he is approached with a comment that a certain piece evoked a feeling or a memory. This is not why he makes art but when a connection is made, it makes him feel great about what he is doing….
Analog collage allows creative freedom and this is what he loves about the art form. To also make art that disrupts the viewers senses at times and forces them to stop and think for a moment. Never conforming to societal standards and art should be that disruptor.
Mark has been producing art all of his life, ceramics, painting and sculptor but analog collage and mixed media has forced him to dig deep from within to find that creative side and he has never looked back. Never be afraid to ask someone for old books or magazines, never be afraid to drive 10 hours to get books, never stop asking for more and never say no when someone offers you materials you can use.
